Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I have finally got around to registering. Don't know what took me so long, but here I am. Really looking forward to connecting with people on here and hope to learn more about the different elements of media.
Currently own a DVX100b in which I purchased over the summer. Very sad to say I have barely used it at all, but that is about to change.
Recently I have connected with an old friend of mine who has been a journalist over the years. He has decided to follow his passion, but instead of working for others working for himself. He is a highly respected journalist in the area and I really hope it works out for him. Over the pass few months we have been talking about maybe doing a few projects together. I still have a lot to learn, but at the same time I am very eager to dive in and do what I have always been passionate about.
I do not have top of the line gear, but I do believe I have the basics from Mic's, Lighting and a D90 as well. Eventually once I get a better understanding on what I want or need I plan on upgrading. What I do have right now though I hope will be enough.
If I could too ask a question here, that I am sure is posted on here over and over again. I am sorry if it has, but I have not seen anything lately. My question is... The DVX100, will it still stand out and be decent enough today? I mean are people still using this aged camera in the industry? The dvx that I own is used and I bought it over the summer with hopes of getting active with it. Now a few months have past and I have been doing further research and feel as though maybe I should have went another route. Slight concerned about this. From what I see it can still produce some amazing shots and looks like it has what it takes. When you get the time can someone enlighten me on this? Even if it's just your own opinion all responses I would totally appreciate.
