This HDSLR stuff looks pretty awesome!
Im a current film student coming from an dvx100/JCV hm100 (what we use at school). I want to make my first HD cam purchase. Looks like alot of people are happy with there GH1's and id like to maybe give it a try. My plan is to find a used "hackable" GH1, throw some hardware on to make it more user friendly and have some fun. I will be doing audio separately. I like doing handheld stuff, especially low shots. Short films with the "film" look is what im after. Budget: No more then $4k.
My question to you guys is:
What lens's? (I did see a ton of info on this so i can figure that out more easily)
What rail system/mounts?
Fallow focus?
Which Matte Box?
Lastly, What external LCD and mounts?
I know there is a ton of stuff out there and everyone has different needs and tastes. Im asking 'generally' what are people using. Maybe you can post pictures of your own rig?
