The question I have is why does the focus ring on the lens not do anything? I cant change the focus point?

New to DSLR Video just picked up Sigma 20mm

Ya it has an AF/MF switch on it.
If this is the 20/1.8, then it's not just the af/mf switch, but this lens has a clutch also, you have to pull the whole focus ring towards you.
So, to use MF, you have to first flip the switch, and _then_ pull the af/mf clutch towards you, and it'll engage the MF gears.

Ya its the 1.8... hmm I never knew it had a clutch on it. I will have to check it out when I get home. I have been getting a very deep depth of field which gave me the same feel as my XHA1.
