Hi Everyone,
I got some great feedback about my first time-lapse video I shot off my front porch, so I decided to combine a few others that I've done.
The one of the Boston skyline from Cambridge was shot from the backseat of my car. It was freezing out and I didn't want to stand next to my camera for the next hour. I also didn't want to stay to far from it, so I set up the tripod and started shooting out of the back window with the music and heat on. There was a problem though - the traffic whizzing by me on Memorial Drive. It would literally shake the car like a boat in water, in turn making the time-lapse a little rough. Lesson learned.
The front porch one was made days after the prior one I posted, but it was on a much more cloudy night. Still cool, but no planes in the sky like last time.
The last one was shot off a dock along the Mystic River in Medford. I tried using automatic ISO for this one... not too crazy about the results. You can see a flicker from the auto ISO being indecisive and going back and forth between frames. Plus, it didn't get the exposure around the setting sun right.
A combination of the music, color grading, and motion really make it come alive though. Even though there are some imperfections with the shots, these other elements help make up for it.
Thanks for watching. Appreciate feedback.
