I have a friends tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens: http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-17-50m...6+17-50mm+F/2.8+Di-II+XR+AF+IF+Lens+For+Nikon

and this cheap adapter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nikon-F-AI-...ounts_Tubes&hash=item3f26356303#ht_3065wt_758

The lens fits on my camera great, the shutter speed changes like normal but for the f.stop it just says 0.0. For all my other non panasonic lenses I have a ring on the lens to change the f-stop but since this is a zoom lens it does not have this. Is there a way to change the f-stop or a more expensive adapter that allows the camera to control the lens' f-stop? Hoping I can get this lens to work with my gh2 really bad

excellent news! And thanks for the info, I just assumed most zooms didnt have aperture rings because the aperture changed when you zoomed.

So will that adapter allow me to control the aperture from in the camera or would I control it from the lens?

You turn a ring on the adapter, which links mechanically to the lens' aperture mechanism. There is no control via the camera body.
