FS7: New Sony F7 XDCAM 4K Super 35mm Camcorder

That would've probably been your best option. You would've walked in and picked it up today I'd imagine. Now to think of what to shoot with it on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Sony being in Japan, cameras tend to come in via Los Angeles. Companies like Abel Cine have multiple offices, but may not get an extra allocation for each office. If you have 24 distributors and less than 100 cameras, that may mean 3 to 4 cameras per distributor in the first week. If Abel Cine had all of theirs sent to New York... maybe LA got short changed.

Sony product coming to the US first goes to Sony facility in California for final Sony USA QA process before release shipments to dealers. If all goes as planned we expect to be shipping cameras to end users by the end of the day today.

Biggest hurddle is quantity each company will be allocated vs PO they have in vs orders they have taken...

let the fun begin.

Has Sony said anything about when larger shipments would hit North America? I think I should be in the first batch to Canada dealers.
