Sorry in advance if it's already floating around, I just haven't seen this posted anywhere else yet-

  • DVF-L350 3.5" LCD Viewfinder
  • Sony Shoulder Mount Plate

Haven't called B&H to see if it's for real, but would be a pretty impressive package for the cost. ~6-7K worth of upgrades/accessories alone. Maybe trying to compete with the recent price cut on C300 ii?

I agree - those are some shockingly low prices for what it is. People considering the fs7 should now look at that deal.

This is probably to compete with the $12,000 C300 MKII.

And probably a hint that Sony has something up its sleeve.

Hello, Yes it is an amazing deal. We (authorized CineAlta representatives) have been running this promo for several months. I think it started in May. It pre-dates Canon's C300mkII price drop. You can check it out online here. I agree with the above post by 'adaptation', if you are looking at an Fs7 these F5 kits are with in spitting distance now. And the F5 kits offer more potential for future upgradability including doing 16-bit RAW recording.

I was just speaking with my regional Sony representative a couple of weeks ago about these promos. There is a common misunderstanding that this might indicate that the model is soon to be end-of-life. On the contrary, Sony has so much R&D wrapped up in these cameras, with all the different modules they've created targeting a vast array of users from cine to broadcast, that they really want to get them into the hands of users. If the camera was going end-of-life the way Sony would traditional handle it would simply be to slash the price and heavily incentivise dealers to move them in volume. But these bundles are designed to add value to the purchase and there have been no additional moves made by Sony to push volume sales.

If you have any questions on the F5 or F5 bundles please let me know. This is a great time to buy. I'm here to be a resource for you in any way that i can. Thank you very much.
