New Sony 5" HDMI monitor

It looks like those sunshades are built into the monitor (you can see a spring on the inner left wing) That's a pretty cool feature, but could be problematic if multiple people are looking at the single monitor. Hopefully they can come off as well.
Now if only we had a shot of the back and we could see if it has an HDMI pass through, but i highly doubt that.
 
I like it, too bad the GH2's HDMI does not output audio. If it did I'd have my SmallHD monitor up for sale in favor of this. (edit) Maybe not looking at the resolution.

It would be interesting to set this next to the 5" HDMI Marshall. I've been using that for a few weeks and really like it. Great size for a little run 'n gun.
 
For me using a Ipad as external monitor would be a blast, but i guess none of this tablet have HDMI or another type of video input.

I have read that this monitor has both headphone jack and speaker. Now, is this just for playback? Or, help me here, can you monitor while you are recording? Now wouldn't that be nice.

Those issues are functions of the camera, not the monitor. If the camera outputs an HDMI stream while it is recording, yes. If it adds audio to that stream, yes.

Canon DSLRs (I believe all of the usual suspects, 5d, 7d, etc) don't output audio via HDMI; and the specs of the HDMI output vary by camera model.
