New Site!

Now the font, say someone goes on my site, and the font I picked isn't installed on their computer, what font will they get?

if you use a non-standard font (like the one you're using) the computer will default to whatever font your site defines as the fall back. that's usually either Arial or Times New Roman.

If you want to use fancy fonts you have to either make it a graphic or make it a flash font (very tricky). the safe option is to use a default font

Just goes to show that its not the camera that makes the picture.

Overall this does look alot better than your first attempt, but I have to agree with most of the advice given here. I would especially advise you to get rid of the picture.

Take a look around, find some other production company sites that you like, see what others are doing...

basically.... steal.
:)

I'm having flash backs of the thread about his business card...Luis, didn't you end up designing it, sending it of to the printers and picking up the tabe on that one?

Photo of a teen. Might as well be blowing a bubble.

HAHAHAHA! Thats hilarious.

To quote what Luis said, "Take a look around, find some other production company sites that you like, see what others are doing...

basically.... steal."

He's right. There is nothing wrong with a little creative borrowing. Everybody does it.

there's nothing wrong with using templates either as long as they aren't too commonly used. como, maybe you can try to find a web design student who can do your website for free.

For buttons and text on a graphic, it doesn't matter if people don't have the font. Because you make it a graphic. How do you know people have the font you're using anyways?

When you're using fonts for the main text of the site, be sure to use something similar to the style your using. Pay attention to seriff vs non-seriff.

Photographs have more to do with the shot's composition, framing, lighting, etc... I've seen beautiful images come out of so-so cameras. Fancy cameras just help.

Fine, you're not hiring someone to do your web site. I didn't either. You posted it here for help, we're giving help. Take our advice and keep working on it. You'll come out with something nice with our help. If you're new to designing, don't expect to get it right the first or second time right off the bat.
