New Short!

Really interesting! I liked it a good bit. Confusing, but that only makes me want to watch it more.

the cc was pretty thick, but I think that it served a purpose here. and the lighting was good for this sort of thing as well (I liked the shot where he was backlight and the light kept peeking out).

The last shot was extremely noisy. Not sure if that was intended or not.

and the music really took me back to A Clockwork Orange. :)

Lawsuit Boy,
Thanks for the comments! I wanted to give it a very surreal look. So I over saturated the colors a lot since the wallls are so white. I wrote the music a while back with heavy lush strings and a simple loop from 'Reason'. I can see some similarities to Clockwork too. The noise in the coffin scene is because it's from a funeral web site picture. I had to disguise the horrible pinkish lights that they had shot with. I had to distort the image enough so that it would seem more organic to this piece and thus the grainy look.

More feedback would be greatly apprecited! Any other comments?

Very sophisticated bump!

But joking aside, watched the short just now; very... abstract.

To be honest, I didn't understand it at all. It was too dark at some points, but most of it was well put-together.

I'd work on the cohesion of it. It was very.... well, random, honestly.

Otherwise, it was a good short!

It was good, I liked what you did with the coffin shot and hearing where you got the photo and to hear what you did with it makes sense (covering up the quality and what not), Good job.

I personally don't see anything like A Clockwork Orange but hey there's interpretation for you..even in one of Kubrick's least interpretable films.

I did like the surreal aspect within your short, but I wasn't feeling the CC too much. With a higher production value and more time invested I think you could make something worth watching.

Good Luck

Kubrick71,
Thanks for the honest feedback. I think that the similarity that Lawsuit boy mentioned to Clockwork was that of the music not the footage itself. Anyway, I want to understand what aspect of the cc you're referring to. When I look back on it I see too much red (skin wise) in my LCD screen and I know the LCDs are not the best when it comes to editing video in terms of the colors.
I see some shorts in this web site that have an awesome striking resemblance to film and then there are those with video like images. And I definitely want more of the filmic feel. I used Sony Vegas 6 and tried to get the most out of a dark room light with a Home Depot 500w work light. I know... Not top line by any means but that's my budget for now.
