New Short Film To Check Out - Induction

Re: New Short Film To Check Out - Induction

The Lord Of the Rings: Extended Editions have some really nice features on how they did all the foley and constructed the sound. It might help. I think they have one on all three movies.

I know that at least Return of the King did.

One thing to keep in mind for sounds is LAYERS. Lots of layers of sound.

1. Ambient OFFICE SOUNDS (phones ringing for example and moans!)
2. FOLEY SOUNDS (Dude typing for example)
3. Score

I wanted to see more of the rat. :) Was that a trained rat or a pet? How did you get him to move in the direction you wanted. I shoot alot with my roommates 2 dogs. Neither of them are trained so I go through a lot of cheese slices and fattening doggy treats. I loved the film too by the way. ;D

That was very fun. Good work. Good use and sense of zombie social commentary. ;D

Re: New Short Film To Check Out - Induction

The rule of 'don't work with children or animals' is still a good one. That rat refused to take direction. I will never speak to his agent again. But in an hour of footage I got enough for the credits at least. Just between us, I rubbed a lot of chicken wings into the carpet at work, let him have a sniff then put him down a distance away. Rats won't follow a trail, they just lick the ground where it starts.

Where from? I called a pet shop and asked to borrow a rat. No problem. In fact the only thing I've ever had to pay for as far as props go was the gimp mask. 20% of the list price to borrow it for the weekend. Added up to $60. I guess a lot of people ask to borrow their bondage gear for the weekend 'to make a film with some friends'.

Not bad at all my friend, I pretty much agree with what John voiced about it. Just a few spots of dead space. And of course the audio. I didn't like SOME of the angles, but that's always up for opinion anyways. overall it really is quite good. good work.
