I decided to try out some new settings.

I feel I got the look of Remember When by Jason Ramsey.

I like the shot of the glasses, thought it was really cool with the follow through focus, hitting the lens of the glasses making it in focus, and everything else blurred. You'll see!

Here it is, and don't mind the editing and the song, as I just slapped it together to show you the shots/colors.

Thanks!

Robbie

Hey guys,

Cinelike V, 24pA, detail -4, color temp -2, Enriched, master ped -5, chroma level -7, thin.

Those are the setting:)

Nice one, Robbie.

Interesting choice to turn the chroma down and have the matrix 'enriched'. Was that a conscious choice or one of those 'happy accidents'? Just curious. It makes for a unique mix.... a kind of muted chroma punch. You can especially notice that effect on the M&M's in the cookies and the thumbtacks.

Post some grabs, man. The internet where I'm at right now is to slow to download any footage.

I actually shot "Remember When" with a +2 chroma if I remember correctly. But, I did quite a bit of desaturation in post and crushing of blacks.

This was HVX mind you, so the settings won't match, but I shot CineD, Master Ped at -5 I think. don't remember much else beyond that.

Post some grabs.

Later,
Jason

hey robbie. cool footage. it makes me want to buy a dvx :D

a few questions..
did you shoot squeezed?
there is some stepping (most evident on the top of the glasses in the closeup) is this because of compression or sharpening or shooting in squeezed or what?
some of the colours a really blocky. (like the blue pin on the cork board and the black left side of the cookie jar) is this because of the dvx's settings or the h264 compression?
did you do any sharpening in camera or post?

very cool colours. i would love to see some full res raw png stills if you've got the time :)

thanks.

That looked great! You edit using FCP right? Every time I've seen your work it always seems to get better. What was that song?
