New owner, please help with 24fps

Ok. I will go outside tomorrow afternoon and shoot at 1080i60, 720p60, 720p30 and 720p24. About 1-2 minute clips with some panning and zooming. I will post you the link to download them afterwards. Can you open the MTS files or do you want me to transcode to Pro Res?

I can play mts files no problem, and they are a lot smaller than a prores file. :)

For the record now, maybe I shouldn't be shooting at any of these progressive modes. None of them look smooth to me

Shoot at 60p will be as smooth as 60i. I'd even say 60p is more smooth.

It's the 30/25 fps who looks choppy/jerky not the progressive mode. I actually didn't liked 25fps either at first.
But I now think it's looking great for some cinematographic shots or some portraits shots.

Let me ask, what would be a good shutter speed for 24fps outside on a bright day, like today in Pittsburgh.

When shooting at 30fps or 25fps the best shutter speed to makes the shots the less jerky possible might be 1/48. Xxx
And if it's highly sunny and your image is still too overexposed even after have closed to the max your iris diaphragm, you can engage the ND filter on and keep your SS at 1/48. I already used the ND filter set on 1/64 on a very sunny day and the iris not even wide open but nearly. Looks better (well, for my eyes...) than increase your shutter speed and close the iris diaphragm. Xxx
