New owner of DVX100 and Vimeo help

I am fairly new with my dvx100. I dont have the 100a or the 100b. Just the dvx100. I have uploaded a few videos on my vimeo account. When I film something and I look in the viewfinder, the image looks almost high definition. But when I upload on Vimeo or Youtube it looks a little choppy (people have lines through them). Ive messed around with some uploading settings on Final Cut and iMovie. By watching some of my videos can anyone get me some advice or tips? Thanks.

What's your workflow? Are you shooting 60i (progressive off), 30p, 24p, or 24pA?

What are your capture settings in FCP, and what are your sequence settings?

How are you exporting your finished project?

The jagged lines come from interlacing. The short-term solution is to de-interlace your video either on export from FCP or on conversion with Compressor. The long-term solution depends on your answers to the questions above.

James,
The problem is not with your DVX100. It's most likely with your export settings in iMovie. Also keep in mind that anything on Vimeo or Youtube will look compressed compared to the original footage. Because it's compressed. The goal is just to minimize the compressed look as much as possible.

Vimeo has specific suggested export settings. When you export to quicktime from iMovie, try to match these and see if the quality improves.
