New Orleans Through Timelapse

Over the summer some friends and I have been gradually building up a cadre of New Orleans timelapses and slow-motion shots for a video that hopefully will be roughly five to ten minutes long and have
everything from the French Quarter to river traffic to street musicians to streetcars. We're all pretty busy with other stuff so it's slow-going... Not sure what we'll do with it when we're done but we'll figure
something out :cheesy:

We don't have the budget for fancy motion-control rigs so we're making do.

So far we only have about a quarter of the material we want, but I threw the current timelapses together in a "Work-in-Progress" video to selectively show around so I can get a feel for what works and what doesn't - this way we can focus on what people are interested in for future shots. Note: we don't have any of the "people" or culture shots yet, just cityscape type stuff.

The music is, of course, copyrighted and thus temporary.

What do you think? What's good and what's bad?

That would be the top floor of One Shell Square, actually. Through the windows! It's probably not apparent on the web but in the high-quality original file you can tell that some windows are clearer than others. For instance, the shot of the river-bend is very clear, while the shot looking out over the superdome isn't so much.

I imported each image sequence into Premiere CS4 *as an image sequence*, so in the browser it appeared as one clip. That gave me great freedom to zoom and pan across images without losing resolution, as stills can be much higher-res than 1080p video. To do so I simply used keyframes and motion controls.

I could have also set up each image sequence in its own sequence, then nested all those sequences into one big one for editing.
