New Music Video!!!!!!

Well i got word from the band that the video is officially in the hands in Europe over at MTV2 and MTV Europe networks...so should have airplay soon. Be on the lookout (in europe)!

They are a signed band, so that's all up to label people and $$$. They take care of all that. As far as i know

This vid is awesome, The music is pretty hardcore but hey! I had a look at all of your other work, You have a lot of talent. I think i could learn a lot from watching your stuff! I was wondering how you shoot these bands i.e how you sync the music with your vids, And what sort of budget are some of these shot with? Any info would b great!

Well, let's see. How i sync music with the videos, i'm assuming you mean in post production? First before the shoot, i like to go in and create a 4-count beat before the song starts, so the band knows when to come in, and also for post production makes it easier to hear the start of the song for syncing. Lately since i've been working with at least 7 hours of raw footage/takes per video, i always like to log in all my footage into the computer. Then i basically line up each take at the beginning of the timeline and basically have all the layers stacked. I basically choose the best angle/per cut of the song. And obviously add anything else in between. This video unfortunately was very pressed for time. The jib set up took an hour and it was the sabbath (on friday, in Israel where everything closes down) so we had to be out of there at like 5pm. So ended up having 4 hrs to shoot the performance. I've had budgets from $200 to 5k up to 15k. Hope that helps!

That's exactly the info i wanted, Thanks so much. To my surprise most of what u described was how i imagined it should go, Except i never imagined you would shoot so many hours..wow. And could you tell me what you play the song through for the band to sync to when your on set? (eg. PA system) Also 15k budgets holy shi*! That's awesome, Look foward to hearing from you.

Great video! The song itself was pretty generic though...
But I also was suprised by "at least 7 hours of raw footage" - if a song is three minutes the band has to play the song around 140 times???
Or is my math wrong? What wouldn´t surprise me hehehe...

Well, this video was shot with one camera, but other shoots i've had two angles for each shot (thus double the footage, double mint double mint gum!) hah. Yeah we usually use a powerful PA, or on lower budgets it ends up being one of the amps and an ipod from the band. But i always make sure to use a 4 count before the song, that's very important. Anything else?

Thanks again for the info! Just wondering if u've ever made any short films i might be able to check out. I think your editing style could fit the horror genre nicely. Also what gear do use i.e camera and rigs, pc and software?

Yeah the site is down at 6.26pm Central Standard Time in the U. S.. I wish I could see it.:(

Hey guys, sorry...Havent gotten too into short films but want to definately. I've always wanted to make a horror film. Everything you've seen is all on the dvx100a (raw). Only 2 vids are done with the m2 adapter. The "Day in the Park" and "We are All One" I use a dual-core G5, dual samsung 19" monitors, and a jvc broadcast monitor. I edit on FCP, AE PRO etc.

Go check out my new website, finally done and is now live as of 5 minutus ago!!! Now you can check out all the vids in a nice resolution!
