I don't understand the story line at all, honestly video makes no sense to me. I did a quick history on your post and seen others comment on your past work as well stating the same thing. If you keep deleting all of your videos how can you ever learn or grow?

Love what you do, understand the song to really get into it . If all else fails maybe you should try shooting a music video drunk or something. I can see the potential there but you need to work a lot harder to really sell your image.

Also chop your video faster and don't use this scene or that scene only for this part of the song.

Wealthy people do not go to stores they usually have items like cars and other things delivered to them. She is a wealthy woman so that is what is being portrayed. If she is wealthy then she obviously is about her business. Simple yes but that is what they wanted.

Cieloent I appreciate your input but the whole drunk comment was not required. I place videos up here for constructive feedback. If you do not have anything constructive to say I would appreciate it if you kept your comments to yourself. This site's intention is to inspire and to motivate not to destroy.

Before you read my comment, remember this site is to help film makers and not put them down. This is just my opinion and what I do for a living too.

It has the style of a "dirty south vid", but not the flow of one. Some of your shots are a bit long and makes the story drag. The cars were a nice touch, but shots were a little boring. It took her 40 secs to reach the door, I'd cut that to 5 secs. I would have also added a few shots of the wheels spinning, maybe an CU of her lips when singing, reflection off one of the guys glasses, quick in and out shots, etc... The alley shots were good, but if she's wealthy why would she be in a alley singing (just something to think about) I would have maybe shot her scenes in the car driving, on a boat or at an upscale club if I were trying to recapture that style video.

Now your scene with her on the steps is your money shot, looks very nice and would pick thru more of that !

Overall nice job

?

Seems like you do not know how to take feedback. The drunk comment was not meant as a disrespect. When I shoot music videos I drink, it allows me to see things differently and be more relaxed. Maybe drunk to someone who doesn't know me might have sound a bit harsh. I should have said instead to have a drink or two.

Also just like another user commented you need to chop the video faster, so lets just say you have about 20+ opening scenes you need to double that to keep it interesting. When doing Music Videos you need to keep things moving + more importantly interesting.

Also you as a director should have not let the artist not only change her hair dew but color as well, looks like someone different. All in all if you put your video out there to be judged by the community you need to accept it. If the video was good I would have told you, but IMO the video just does not flow well and that's what to me that not make it a good video

Keep trying to get better though and watch a lot of videos to get ideas

peace

The edit was definitely slow. The coverage was pretty boring also--some close-ups and low or high angles would have been nice. The lighting was super basic, a little blown out at times. She would have really benefited from a backlight in that alley and the resulting lens flare when she's not blocking the light wouldn't do anything but help either.

I have to say that I became confused as to which I liked least the song or the edit
the photography was ok but ultimately all video has to be judged on if you could sit through it or not. if it was interesting or not, I can't for the life of me sit through another
bad rap song about the wanting of wealth and status.

I ain't no professional but one of the few things I learned in film school was watching the eye scan. In the opening scene you have the eye scan left and right pretty harsh. Also something that I notice was the color balance. Also is you're SV lights flood lights? I have a set of SV lights and I use black foil to help direct my lights, so it's not too flat. Agree with towcik23, add more. You can never have too much to work from. Alley scene was good. The trio scene with the trees in the background was good.

We only learn by making mistakes.

Wow, I am getting some pretty bad feedback here. Okay point taken I 'll scrap this one.

You don't need to scrap it, just re-edit your video. Make it snappier, tighter and flow better.

Never meant any disrespect or to make you feel bad, this is hard work and it's not easy. Use this fuel to learn and make yourself better like we all do. Live to fight another day my friend and NEVER I mean NEVER give up!

There's not one shoot in the world that went 100% smooth without any problems. Every shoot has an assortment of problems that overtime you'll figure out how to solve. The trick is to pre plan every shoot and design them in 3D or simply on a piece of paper.

Make a shot list with timing, bring a stop watch and have someone take time code. Star the shots you like, scratch the ones you don't like, etc.. I couldn't tell you how many times I wish I could have gone back to re-shoot a scene or even a shoot, but once you've taken money from a client and have a date to provide by sometimes this option isn't possible.

If you can reshoot the project then do it, but if not try to add in fills to spice it up. Good luck and remember all of us started from the same place. Keep pushing you'll get it
