EDIT:

Had to take the video down for now, just got informed that it will be premiering on MTV's Headbangers Ball and they want it to be exclusive.

Also, take a look at my website if you like it!

One thing I've always wondered with bands like this: Is it tongue-in-cheek, or are they serious? I mean, do they realize how silly they look? Maybe it's me.. haha.

At any rate, I thought the video was shot well. I'm only half-way through it so far, but I think it looks pro. Something that could definitely be broadcast IMO. Did you (or the band) take any inspiration from that Attack Attack video? I noticed a lot similarities like the hand towards the camera while singing, all the crabcore moves, etc.. Maybe that comes with the style?

What did you have for lighting?

What color profile did you use in the camera? Did you shoot flat?

I too am not a fan of the music, but the imagery is fantastic! Very pro looking with a great story to cut to between band shots.

Well done!

Haha, I just checked out your website and YOU shot the Attack Attack video! No wonder there were similarities. Did you only do that one version? I've seen a different version, was that shot by you as well?

While I may find the music style humorous and tough to take seriously, your shooting/editing work is definitely serious. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

I shot the attack attack video, so you could say I was slightly inspired by it. hahah I shot the one on the bridge though.

We used a couple of open faced lights, and a custom profile that I made thats pretty flat but not the super flat one

looks really good. GO kit lens!!

.....and ur skill :)

haha thank you!

kit lenses really aren't all that bad for video, I've noticed that the 18-135 tends to crush the blacks a lot more than the faster lenses do, but it still works if you're in a pinch for something to shoot with.

It looks good man, definitely pro...all of your stuff is. BUT I definitely have to agree with others on the music style, I absolutely hate screamo lol...I just don't get what's appealing about it? It just a bunch of angry mother ****ers going crazy. To each their own though...good work

hahahaha I love this forum, I was wondering what would happen if I dropped the f-bomb...it changed to poo pooers, that's great!

hahahah poo pooers

well, the music isn't really angry, screaming just kind of has energy to it I suppose that is emotive in its own kind of way. I would never listen to rap (at least not mainstream) because I don't like how they all talk about getting drunk / high / making women into sex objects, and being gang bangers and stuff... but then again - that's also just my stereotype of that genre much like most peoples stereotype of screamo is that it's all angry and bad music.

Just gotta look beyond the surface a little bit at the people who make the music and realize there is a whole lot of talent within what they're doing too, lots of really hard drum parts and guitar parts, not to mention that the vocalist is actually very good.

I don't mean to sound argumentative, I just wanted to offer up an opinion or point of view to maybe help you understand the often misunderstood genre of music :]

Hey man i wasn't bashing...and I didn't say the "Music" wasn't good...theres tons of talent there no doubt. The singer is decent but any sort of screaming doesn't sound pleasant to me lol...thrice is about as far as I can go with that sort of thing.

Right on with the mainstream rap, **** that (anxious to see what word it replaces this with lol)...I'm not a fan of anything mainstream at all really. I dig hiphop to an extent, but only good stuff like the roots...none of that gangster hustler ****. The one video somebody just posted in the screening forum was pretty decent

PROPS for getting this on MTV though, that's huge!

No no I didn't think you were bashing at all, its always hard to tell how people are communicating / talking about things over text on a forum, but I was just offering up the alternate opinion. I get what you're saying for sure though.

I'm excited to have something nationally broadcast! So sick. I hope they accept 24p. hahah
