New Music Video Just Released (Canon 7D)

Excellent video. I'd like to know a little more about the making of the video. Did you do a behind the scenes video by chance? I'd like to know about your work-flow, equipment, budget, etc.

Captain Jack-

Thanks for the compliment. Both the DP and I wrote a bit about the production (some technical details, etc.) a few posts back, so definitely check that out, especially for lighting details.

This was a wholly indie project (definitely a labor of love for all the major players) with a total budget that came in just under $3,200, which went mostly to gear and food for cast/crew, (I called in favors from many talented and generous friends/colleagues).

We shot on the Canon 7D, and dumped off to my Macbook Pro and an additional external drive for backup as we went. Before editing in FCP, I viewed takes in Quicktime and selected which clips I might want to use, converted those to Pro Res in Compressor, and then imported those for editing in FCP. I edited everything in Final Cut, and then we worked with an online editor who did some additional motion work, and the green screen keying, in After Effects.

We actually have a TON of behind the scenes video - lots of flip cam and a few hours of crew/artist interviews + broll on the HVX200. I've been meaning to make a proper behind the scenes piece, but unfortunately just don't have the time to devote to it, so that footage will have to just sit still for now (unless we can find a good editor who wants to take on that project for free...).
Meantime, here are some production photos from each of the 4 shoot days:
