Oh that's cool... As long as it's not simply 'zooming' the original stream (effectively what you could simply do in post).

It may be more complex than our impression though.. The video mode may be 'debayering' on many levels to get the most out of the IQ rather than simply utilizing a single pixel in a quadrant where the still mode uses all of them... just a thought.
 
This is very good, and unexpected, news.

I've always thought that this would be a killer feature, especially coupled with the fact that the m43rds system can take 16mm lenses. It's surprising to know they actually implemented it into the GH1 for video.
 
I'm with Steve. The second I heard about adapting C-mount lenses. I wanted this feature. Awesome. As long as the results are better than doing it in post.
