Hello all. Carroll (guy) here. I have been checking out the site while waiting and deciding on whether to purchase the C100 or not. Well, it arrived Friday. How sweet it is. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to share their knowledge.
Hello Jason.
I am Tozman from the east coast of England, and am a newbie here.
I am also an 'Oldie' who began filming and editing about a year ago. Once I got over the 'curve' I found it a little easier but still struggle from time to time. I film with a Panasonic HDC-SDT 750 HD camera, and edit using either Sony Movie Studio HD10 Platinum or Serif Movie PlusX5. I also use a Panasonic Lumix FZ38 for photos.
I believe there is a UK group here somewhere?
Hello everybody! Recently joined and I have only one question so far, this may seem like a stupid question but do I need to have a DVX camera to post here or is it for any and all cameras?
Hello Group This is Jay, I am here to interact with pple communicate abt film making and looking forward to buy some used stuff too.. hope i can contribute some and get some help too.. Looking forward
Saying, "Tally ho!" from Portland, Oregon. I'm new to videography, but am excited to learn and grow. Presently, I'm pursuing still photography. I just purchased my beautiful Canon 7D (his name is Wheatley) from a user on this forum. What an awesome community.
I am a new member. I want to post in various places, most immediately in the sale/wanted Panasonic. I am looking for an AG-AC130A that I can afford. If I cannot find such, I am looking for a deal on a AC90. What gauntlet need I run to be able to post?
Hi Everybody, I am Adrian. I am following this site for a while but I never been registered. I am one of those silent one, not asking much but reading others questions and answers.
I'm Gavin from London. I'd like to thank you all for maintaining such an excellent community here with such informative posts - you've really helped me!
My name's Dom and I'm from Germany. I recently bought a GH1 in order to try myself in filmmaking. I'm a complete n00b to the subject, so I figured this excellent forum will probably be highly useful for learing more about the topic and getting feedback on my work. So thank you for all the time and effort you put into running this platform!
Hi everyone, I'm new to dvxuser and posting here for the first time. I'm hoping to get some expert information about gearing up as a video journalist. Is there a market on here for buying used equipment? Thanks.
I work with AbelCine. I'm been a big fan and user of DVXUSER.com. Its about time I contribute to the site I've used for years for technical advice. Feel free to reach out to me with any product/tech questions you may have.
Hello everyone, this is my introduction to your community. I'm new user here, hoping to learn and contribute
Mostly film background, but dipping my toes into digital world for convenience sake (easier to track down computer editing software than it is an 8-plate where I live!) New owner of a Sony FS100, so any intro lessons to that camera (and digital world in general) are appreciated.
Hi I'm Vanessa, in south Florida. My primary career/ passion is being a veterinarian but if I couldn't be that I'd be somewhere in the filmmaking field. I've dabbled in some screenwriting /filmmaking classes, worked as an extra/ actor in a few things and helped out in some small productions with friends. With a limited schedule I'm trying to embrace this desire for learning about filmmaking and put it to use in my field in order to educate animal owners and show natural animal behavior putting together some videos. I tried for a while using a HV30 (tapes were annoying and the color/ lensing wasn't really sufficient but didn't really try it out in all it's glory). Then I got a Nikon D5100 for still photography and played with DSLR HD and started learning basics of photography. Started looking for equipment to translate digital footage to a computer from an older analog medical imaging instrument (endoscope SD camera), came across the Blackmagic site, learned about the upcoming Pocket Cinema Camera, put a pre-order in, and for the last 6-8 weeks since I got the camera I have been obsessed. Lenses and filters, camera doodads, editing, grading, filmmaking websites.... so I take the camera back and forth to work every day to catch wildlife footage bits in the parks between, and then use it to document findings with my patients (going to put educational videos together when I get enough different things). I do a lot of macro lens work at the clinic. Color range I get when I tweak things is amazing. I know about bmcuser.com but this site has lots of other great things to learn about the art. Maybe some time I'll have a go at a short.
I am a new user and just popping up to say 'Hi'. This is actually the first forum I have ever joined in my life and I am in my twenties (always a lurker, never actually contributing). So I feel I really should when I am a full time Editor and a Part-time camera man. I hope you can all answer my general questions and maybe I can give a little back.
