Introducing myself

Introducing myself

hello folks. Acorn here from Va. I wanna say hello to all the happy filmmakers out there in creativity world. Hopefully, I will learn a thing or two from you folks that are more advanced than me. I'm looking forward to it. Can this site be used for critiques administrator?

Hi everyone,
Richard from New Zealand here. I came across this forum when I was having "technical difficulties" with a Premiere Pro/Red project I'm working on and it helped me out a LOT. I've since discovered that it has a whole lot of other interesting goodies to explore. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Hi Jason and other forum members!

My name is John Harler, I am retired and spend most of the year in Hong Kong.

I have lurked on this website for some time, having been interested in film making since shooting and editing little travel films with a standard 8mm Bolex in the 1960s!

Hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Hi everyone,

I'm a student and trying to make a short film. I hope to learn a lot about film making here from everyone.

Best Regards

Hi,
Nice to be aboard. I have been doing production for 30 years--way back when video was new and the equipment worked about half the time. Taught production at the University level for all those years but now just do production work. My website is www.tinroofvideo.com. Glad to be here and have enjoyed the site, not to mention being educated by some fellow film and videomakers about all sorts of things.
Best,
Kevin Balling

Hello All, New to the site and forum. Retired Navy, and from a School District. Now looking to turn hobby into something a bit more "fruitful" in Retirement years. Looking at various websites and forums to learn as much as possible. So far, seems a "Great Community" to interact with, so "Thank You" for all I've seen and read to date. Trying to learn the basics in the use of the camera and how to make good videos.

Hey guys,

A relative (compared to most of you, I'm sure) newbie to the scene, reporting in! My buddy Foby and I just joined, and we're from NE Ohio.

Our English teacher got us started making film projects for class our senior year of High School, and we've come a long way since then. Watching some of the original stuff we did is really just embarrassing at this point, but considering the [lack of] equipment and experience, it's still kind of cool we were able to even make projects. We still have plenty of room to improve, however!

We had one of our shorts featured in a college film festival, and it was a great experience. Our goal has always been to be featured in a regular local film festival and experience the audience react to what we've made. That, besides just enjoying our own creations, is what motivates us most. We were turned down for the second year in a row this year, but I think it was more because of a conflict of themes. The local festival is more artsy, while our works have had a story. We're going to keep trying, though!

We're looking forward to learning and growing with this active community.
