Hello, I am new to the photography and videography world. Up until now, I've been concentrating on still photography, but have dabbled a bit in DSLR video. I'd like to gain some more experience, but for now, forums and YouTube are my best friends. I've built a bunch of DIY accesories already, microphone shockmount, shouldermount, steadycam, boompole, viewfinder magnifier, etc.. Working on a follow focus currently.

Living not far from New York City, there's plenty of things to shoot, so there's no shortage of practicing.

Thanks for the great resource. Of all the various forums on the net, this one seems to be one of the most extensive.

Hi Jason and everyone else. My name is Art Barrera and like the others here a newbie on the site (although I registered a while back). I am an HVX200 user Senior Videographer & Editor at CMMS Studio located in a little fantasy land called Loris in SC. I have read many articles from posters and have enjoyed and learned some new stuff from you all and now I am looking forward to adding my two cents and help when I can.

Hey everyone,

I just registered yesterday and this looks like the perfect site for anything related to prosumer videograhpy. I'm currently an HVX-200p user but hope to upgrade to something that's better in low light (we all know the pain of low light filming with the hvx). I look forward to learning a lot from this site and I'll try to add whatever (little) experience I have to the forum as well.

EDIT: I forgot to ask if an admin or mod can put a space in my user name to make it "Daniel Wogan". Looks better that way.

Hi, I am new to this site glad I found it I have been trying to find a site for filmmaking. I am currently working on my first movie wrote the script myself last year rewriting it now, hoping to start filming around May or April. I have a lot of high goals for myself, I am hoping to get the horror genre back to how it used to be.

Hey guys! I've been a long-time lurker, and just decided to actually register and start participating since I found I couldn't access the embedded images in a lot of posts without that pesky registering thing. Now, I'm an official DVXUser User. Is that redundant? I shoot with a AF-100, run sound, and whatever other stuff people end up letting me do.

Rode Videomic
Sony Tripod (Cheap) - will buy better one soon
looking at getting some UV filters and other accessories.

Currently doing some research on my next camera. Leaning towards the Panasonic GH2.

Hi new here and trying to get started i make tourism videos in Australia and have just bought an FS700, which i have a few questions to ask that i can,t find anywhere. I am also looking to connect with people all over the world as my company is now travelling abroad.
