Hello. My name is Joe Lippencott. I live in central New Jersey. I am a DSLR user who has caught the bug for making videos. My first DSLR was a Canon Xsi and my next was a T2i. I got the T2i primarily for the convenience of having two cameras with different lenses while shooting. When I discovered the video capabilities of the newer camera, I got hooked.
Next on my wish list is the Panasonic AG-AF100.
Also, I have many years of experience in machine and instrument design and fabrication with emphasis on precision machining. My newest interest is development of innovative gear primarily directed toward indie filmmakers. I have designed and built a jib, a dolly similar to the CamTram, but with more capability, a QTVR nodal head similar to the Cartoni Smarthead, and a shoulder mount - all scaled to the DSLR form factor.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a member of your forum.

Just a quick question. How long before the PM system is active for a new user? Is it linked to a number/amount of posts or is it time on the forum?

Thanks.

Hello People of DVX land. My name is Justin (user: Jusgorilla)

I would like to say that after lurking for years, and only taking, I have finally joined in on the action to give as well as receive.

I am a music video director/producer/DP in South Africa and well known in my industry for being able to make good music videos with very little. I work side by side with my brother Nicky.

I have gained valuable information from DVX user over the years, which is amazing, because the info available on this forum is priceless, and the contribution of fellow film makers is freely given. It helps us all do better, solves misconceptions, enlightens, educates and excites people. Sometimes we subs to a thread that really gets our attention and gives us something nice to wake up to in the morning, or to see the next response in a thread we interested in, either solving mysteries, gaining knowledge, finding a buyer for our gear as we move on to the next thing, or updating us in anticipation of some new technology.

I'd like to say thank you DVX, to all those that took the time to share (albeit sometimes heated and emotional :-) ) and hopefully I can contribute as much as I have received and partaken of.

Many thanks

Justin (Jusgorilla)
