But it still looks like home videos, holidays or whatever and who wants to watch your holiday like videos besides you and your family ?
Nobody.We all have our own.

Sooooo... YouTube videos keep getting millions of hits because... ?

Speak for yourself. There are lots of folks out there who watch other people's videos, even if they are very amateur. And Dan is exactly right... many of these amateurs and enthusiasts are catching on to the techniques that make videos watchable in both shooting and editing, and their videos are becoming more and more palpable.

No, these videos aren't going to be on par with professional productions that have decent budgets. But there's some creative expression coming out that is, at its base, interesting. And these new tools (like the Flip and the iPod Nano) are facilitating that.

Let's not be so quick to assume that one cannot have creative expression without a fancy camera.

I've "upgraded" recently to the 3Gs and although the footage is well, almost as good as a cheap SD camera, I am still excited by what's around the corner for these devices. There is a place for video uploaded directly from these devices.

You'll find out why we the Cinevate crew is so stoked up for this, in a few weeks :-)

I want one! You could get all your buddy's together and do a cool 20+ camera shoot / music video for you tube, looks like you can gaffer tape them anywhere. I can see it now, a indie movie shot with 50 of these cameras staged in locations that'll probably get millions of hits on youtube.

These look like fun, one thing that got my attention was when my 7 year old neice told me she is in a production class at her school, they make youtube video's with flip cams. The youtube / flip cam generation is going to think high quaility videos look like crap anyway when they grow up, they don't even like high quality special effects now, it has to look like a cheap video game to get thier interest.

I just tried to order one, they are upgrading their store so I'll order one tomorrow.

BING BING BING:thumbup: Roll with it before someone else does!

Geez, I just noticed the battery for video last 5 hours, 24 hours for music, didn't even know it had a built in FM tuner until after I ordered. :) These are going to be great for a boat or travel. I have a small battery powered speaker that my old nano plugs into, it's great for remote outdoor stuff / beachbag or the lake.

The quality of the Nano seems to be comparable to the flip in a much smaller form factor...also from the sample's I've seen the sound quality is surprisingly good (at a distance.)

How long till Zacuto comes out with a $500 kit for it?

Zacuto is working on it now. Articulated arms, follow focus, shoulder mount, the whole deal, may be more like $1200 though.
