New Hvx200 Video!

...or maybe they did not limit the luma to 100ire in post, causing the WMA codec to "forget" the 100 to 110ire info...

geeeeez...it's ugly !

Hello Rodrigo, I just find the link of this Japanese site. You can trust me, I've already post others stuff and info about Hvx200.
You can check official japan site where I've found this video: http://www.geocities.jp/sumi653/

It's not a simple video from geocities sites, it has reference.
Could it be a prototype of Hvx200? I dunno, but i think this video is recent because often I've visited this site and it doesn't existed till last week or more.

The one thing that give me thoughts is that Panasonic launched Dvx100B and it could be possible that for sell it, they don't make a good ccd compatible for sd mode of Hvx200, so they can sell also Dvx100B.
It's popular make strange marketing stuff, but I hope Panasonic don't do that.
Nobody knows the financial situation of Panasonic, they could be have problems, they're humans and to make money they can do "tricks".

I'm waiting to buy Hvx200 as you Rodrigo, I hope all works in this camera not only Hd mode. Soon mr. Barry Green will give us a new video in Sd mode so we can see the quality. Surely better than this video.

Cheers:)

Well interesting that the web page is a personal website.
The website has pages from the Panasonic website.... hmmm

Yes Stevet it's something of official to increase the sellings! :undecided
They want to show the top quality of Hvx200 with that video, so it's strange...

I think the video is ok. It is what a tourist would get if he just put the camera in auto and used a dv tape. I can tell it's not a dvx. The behaviour with the sun in frame proves it is an hvx. I also think it is representative of what a camera can do in the hands of a tourist in a typical shooting situation.

Lets face it. Tourists do not come with a director of photography, they usually do not know what a polariser is, they don't have enough time to shoot in golden hour and they use auto mode. Tourists also do not like 4minute P2 cards:)

I don't think that samples for the typical user of a camcorder should be shot professionaly. The user will expect a level of image quality he will not get and probably be quite disappointed with his new camera.

I agree completely. The footage is highly compressed, but doesn't look that bad at all. Let's not forget we are watching this in a computer screen, not on an SD tv.

It doesn't look bad? The latitude looks terrible. I'm not convinced that's a production-level HVX, or an HVX at all.
