NEW HPX 170 question

Hello:

I have just unboxed a brand new 170, from a sealed box, and notice that when tipping the camera to a lens up and then lens down position that I hear a clicking noise that appears to originate from somewhere behind the lens that gives the impression that something may be loose. Is this a characteristic of the camera or should I be concerned.

That wasn't nice! I asked what I felt to be a valid question and you sent me a link to a promo video???
 
its an initiation thing -

the lens thing is totally normal wgen powered down - search around on this site especially on the hvx and you will see - others have gotten 'initiated' much worse

Now can anyone tell ME what that click was in one of my Western Digital drives right before it died? :D

Definitely. I tried the freezer trick and that didn't work. I took the thing out of its case and put it in a docking station and that didn't work.

I'm tempted to take the thing completely apart and see literally what causes that click. It's so mechanical and intentional sounding.


I figure I can find the part and tape it fixed on my next ones. Or at least find the little demon that lives in there with a baseball bat and handcuff him.
 
Nope! You let the smoke out. All electronics only work because there's smoke inside, once the smoke comes out, no more workee. - CK
 
I remember that moment, when I picked up my DVX100A and heard that noise, cold sweat, headache, paranoia !!! it was like yesterday
