Hey Strayone,
Not sure where you are located, but I'd suggest going to a camera house that carries a lot of DSLR products. There you should be able to not only see what you hear about here, but actually touch and play with them. If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area, feel free to stop by us:thumbsup:

If you really want to invest in a system that will last you through multiple cameras, here's some stuff I would suggest going with:

Black Magic Converter Box: This way you can use HD-SDI monitors, a connector port that will be featured in all professional cameras from here-on-out.

Anton Bauer QR-DSLR with Canon DR-E6: This will allow you to power your camera as well as your monitor and Black Magic box off one one standard Anton Bauer Battery. Also on a shoulder mount rig the battery doubles as a counter weight. The Anton Bauer Battery system can power multiple cameras, from EX3s, to AF100s.

Marshall 7" Monitor-Great monitor with great features. Specifically false color which allows you to gauge proper exposure.

Redrockmicro Complete Universal Bundle: This is a great bundle. It's a little on the pricey side, but it gives you literally every rig Redrock has to offer. For a production company it's important to have a wide array of shooting capabilities. This bundle gives you shoulder-mount bundles, tripod bundles, as well as run and gun bundles. If you need something lower budget, then you can just go with a DSLR Cinema Bundle and build from there dependent on your companies needs.

Thats just a few handy pieces I would highly suggest for a production company to own. It gives you a complete package for your needs today, as well as allows you to use nearly all of it's components for the next big thing tomorrow. It's all about standardizing!

I just bought an indiSystem cinema bundle for $640.00. It's supposed to be light, which was the big complaint I read on this forum. I'll let you know how it performs with a 7D and prime lenses.

+1 on all that.
