Smooth picture settings all -2.

720p 50p, PAL. Canon fd primes, No L series though.

Workflow: Into final cut > apple intermediate > h.264 export through compressor.

Lighting: Just redheads/blondes through 216 lee filter 4x4foot frames, with a reflector one side. Bright scene was blondes though 216 both sides.

Redheads used as backlights. All redheads on 1k dimmers.

f4 for most shots.

Cool, someone else figured this out! I've been trying to tell people, it's like the best thing ever especially for the GH1 for under a $100...and everyone is still spending thousands on the fancy rigs...

Ooooooo... I'd never seen filters like that before, thanks for introducing me! A few questions:
1. How much is a 4x4 sheet
2. Are they intended for re-use?
3. Can they just be rolled up between uses?
4. What was the wattage of the light you were shooting thru the Lee?

It looks like Lee is primarily a Euro company - anyone have recommendations for comapnies in N America - or even better Canada (Calgary specifically)?

Ok I did some searching and it looks like a Redhead is probably an 800w tungsten and a Blonde is 2k tungsten... did I get it right?

I think 'Rosco' is a Lee Filter equivalent. When I say frame, it was actually just a roll clamped and hung from a stand, with a plastic tube down the middle. So yes, very reuseable and roll up able.

redhead = 800w
blonde = 2000w

drcoffee, is using the 720p better than 1080 over all for detail, less blocking etc? I am new to Gh1 and still waiting for it to arrive

1080p is very useable under many if not most situations and quite a bit sharper.
