They cant even fill the gh2 orders. pretty strange way of conducting business.

They just don't care to. That's been told in an interview published here with some Pana senior. And that business model is quite rational and logical. Pana occupies pathetic 1% of DSLR market while Canon and Nikon are around 35-40% each. So for each potential GH user there are 40 who would prefer Canon anyway. Even though this forum is full of Pana users and we all want the shelves tho be filled with GH2 ASAP - we're all are a mere drop in the ocean of global sales. And Pana is simply not interested in putting lot of efforts into developing sales model of something that doesn't bring much profit eventually. Something that only a handful of enthusiasts needs. Once again, the fact that there are so many of these enthusiasts here is misleading. We are not that many on a global scale.
Meanwhile Panasonic's sales of compact point-n-shoot cameras are MUCH better and this is their major source of income. So they're naturally focused on developing the sector that brings them more money. The GH series is a niche product created just to fill they're product range and targeted to that 1% of DSLR users loyal to Panasonic. And since the vast majority prefers Canon anyway, and Pana does not profit from GH much, their sales strategy is just to cover current demand. They play on the safe side and don't go beyond that. Their logic is: "If users really need their GH2s so badly, they can wait for the pre-orders to be completed. But we don't want to overfill the shelves with GH2 if no one beyond a small circle of enthusiasts buys them, because that's clear financial loss. That's why we don't want to load our assembly lines with this particular product, if they can produce something more profitable".
Do I like that business model? No.
Does it meet my personal needs and requirements? No.
Is it good for Panasonic as a company. Yes, certainly.
I totally agree what Zigizigi says;
At design level, i really like the white one, it´s look like a StormTrooper.
I will wait right here with my GH13 waiting for a Canon announcement before make another purchase.
Remember guys... is just my personal opinion.
Cheers.
