New G2 Firmware - Release the Hounds!

Has anyone applied the G2 hack or is Vatiliy doing this for nothing? Any G23 samples? Is that what a hacked G2 will be called now?

Yes, hack installed and work ok.

Here is my current test settings:

Prevent version compare - check
30min limit removal - check
720p50 -> 25fps - check
Video Bitrate FHD/SH = 40000000
Video Bitrate H = 38000000
Video Bitrate L = 36000000
Overall Bitrate = 48000000
Preset bitrate = 234
Preset bitrate 2 = 234
Overall bitrate 2 = 24000000

Tested 1.5 hour recording live television proadcast various different programs and
STAR CHART 2K EXTRACT.jpg (2min hand held), no problems.

Real life recording test, not yet...

PS. Transcend C6 SDHC card used.

When applying the hack, is it possible to enable multi-language option in menu in G2 at this time? I am planning to order G2 from Japan which is Japanese locked.

No, i use only AVCHD, i am in PAL land (25p).

I had AVCHD work too. Also the BitRate hack for MJPEG. But the 422 hack for MJPEG didn't work out.

Current MJPEG settings: Taken from lpowel 60Mbps settings (no in camera playback, just super high quality:love4:

Have recorded in both AVCHD and MJPEG formats and everything is just groovy, zero hiccups and great quality video.

For the AVCHD .mts to ProRes 422 conversion I am using this free MAC utility 5Dtohttp://rarevision.com/5dtorgb/RGB. Works for Canons and Panasonic, we just loose the audio (may be fixed in a later Panasonic version).

Hi I have try this and other GF13 mjpeg setting , but can no longer record any video at all, both AVCHD or MJPEG
Any sugestion??

i also try 4:2:2 on G2 but get mud on the bottom (10% from the bottom up) of all vdo
only tick 3 boxes
1. Prevent version control
2. All interface language
3. 4:2:2

These MJPEG settings were obtained from my 60Mbps MJPEG Class 6 SD Card Patch. Please do not reprint them without crediting or linking to the source. I've provided detailed information on this patch at the link in my signature.
 
I'm sorry in advance for my question below in case I didn't read carefully everything in the forum, so:
Is it possible to go back to the original official firmware (or to the official firmware upgrade 1.1) after using the hacked version? And how?

Yes, just copy Panasonic's firmware G2__V11.bin file to an SD card and reinstall it. This will work so long as you make sure to enable PTool's "Prevent Version Compare" patch when you hack the camera.
 
The only thing I'm not sure is about VERSION INCREMENT: to check it or not to check it?
My G2 is brand new with firmware 1.0, never hacked or upgraded before! So, what do I need to do with VERSION INCREMENT?

Has anyone tested the hack for G2 with MANUAL VIDEO MODE checked? Do all the manual controls really disappear after switching off or turning to other snapshot mode?

I've used the same settings as fullhdfilm did.
works well so far .

manual movie mode works but dissapears, as expected, and reapears when you go in menu and out, as expecte again. so no prob with it.

only one question. why do we have limit of 3:49min in HD mjpeg?

I am using sandisk extreme 3 16gb.
