NEW g-raid looks promising

g-tech has been around for a while now, and makes a few raid configs in smaller ?Gb amounts that are still 1394b/FW800. im not sure ill use the full 800 GB but it would be nice to have. ive been looking at a smaller version until now.

Insanityfw I would just buy the FW800 g-raid. The sata seems a bit more expsensive for what we're dealing with, dvcprohd, plus by staying w/ the FW drive, you can hook it up to a laptop and bring it to a friends place and not have to worry about installing a sata card, etc.

You think? I was wondering if FW800 would be enough and then I've seen a few articles and people are editing DVCPro HD using these and the LaCies (which I will stay away from). I have to admit it would be the easiest and most affordable route just to stay with firewire. I might get the SATA version to keep with my desktop and maybe I could use the FW800 as a portable if not big portable solution.

I like Duncan's idea, but I'm so technically challenged as it is. Thanks Duncan.

thanks all.
