GH4 New footage

A new test by "Hillbilly Grip Truck" between GH4, GH3, 5DIII, C100, 7D

I guessed them right and the 7D stands out bad. Its amazing how far we have come in such a short time of DSLR video (and how overdue Canon is with a 7D2). But really what I take out of this is that all of these cameras (except 7D) produce amazing video for the cost in controlled situations. No excuses.

That was the most screwed up camera "shootout" -- ever.

I don't think it was a 'shootout' as much as just a comparison. They did screw up the GH4 footage imho which they admit to in the write up about the demonstration. I guess that is to be expected when using an unfamiliar camera in beta firmware that has gone from tester to tester. I have no doubt Cine-D would have yielded much better results.

I got confused with the numbers. It felt like they kept putting them in different orders. Did my head in in the end.

They deinterlaced the C100 so it has 50% the resolution it should. Very obvious from the crop shot.

Why would anyone be shooting interlaced on the c100? none of that was slowmo. That seems pretty shady if true to shoot one cam in a different format.

I thought I saw some aliasing on the C100 that I had never seen before in person so maybe that would explain it.

GH4 slowmo

GH4 slowmo

Hi,

I'm playing with the GH4 (firmware 1.0) for 2 weeks in Sicilia.
First day with the camera and I love it! Here's my first slowmotion test, MP4 with Pana 35-100 in standard mode (-5 for all):

I'll try to post more photo/video samples later here and on my website (http://www.5mars.com/impressions), I'm travelling with a little ASUS notepad so it's not easy! And there is so much things to enjoy and to film here, the country is wonderful!! The GH4 is a powerful tool for travel. For the moment I can't work on the raw files, I can only share JPG from camera.

I've just tested the GH4 with the Canon FD 80-100 and 50 f/1.4. Not very sharp with the first one, quite good with the 50mm.
I love the combo GH4 + 35-100mm f/2.8. I've also the Olympus 9-18 and the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 which are great!

I'm not like this test. I watched it and thought anything but the 3 or 5... those both turned out to be the GH4, not a good sign for me :X... I think that was mainly bc they are so bad at low light. Everything was shot at F4 only the GH4 had a speed booster so it should have been the brightest footage.

I chalk a lot of the noise up to the massive under exposing of the GH4. They mest up the settings. No reason it should be that much darker with a same settings and speed booster. no way.

This low light video looks pretty solid given youtube compression which again leads me to believe the testers messed up the GH4 footage the same way they appear to have shot the C100 in interlaced mode.

Out of the entire video only a few shots were gh4, I'm not sure why you wouldn't shoot the entire sequence with the camera, but I'm guessing to see how it cuts with the gh2, g6? Otherwise I would have preferred to see the entire video shot with the gh4.

In the comments on the YouTube page, the film maker States that he only had access to the gh4 for 20 minutes. The only shots using it are the moonlit wave shots.

Question for the group,

This link was posted a few hours ago, and it is for someone that regularly posts videos of receiving NEW products and unboxing them. She has links to items like a Mac Pro, XBOX and many others. The link below she is posting about unboxing the GH4. You get to see everything that comes in the box. My question for the group is, a number of times it's been reported that the videos we are seeing online are shot with the GH4 "kit", but we've heard no talk from retailers or panasonic about it shipping with a lens. We've all heard that the $1699 price is for the body alone.

This video shows that the body ships with a 14-140 lens. Anyone know if this is true? does the $!699 include the 14-140 lens?

is this a bonus Panasonic is "surprising" us with?
