GH4 New footage

Still some shadow detail while maintaining a deep blue sky. All shot with a normal gamma curve. How much shadow detail would he have got with cine gamma D? I mean, while the GH4 doesn't seem to be a DR monster, there seems to be pretty much headroom with sensor tweaking before compression locks in.

A lot of the footage from the GH4 so far looks GH3 like, maybe a little sharper. I should have bid higher on that F3 yesterday on Ebay with the 3 PL lenses, damn!

Forget everything you've seen so far from the GH4. We wont get a true measure of what it's capable of until we see 10-bit footage in flat/cinema log. I'm not interested in the 4K whatsoever to be honest, I'm more interested in the 10-bit 1080P at up to 60FPS.

As far as I know, the only external recorder that can do 10-bit 1080P at up to 60FPS is the Convergent Design Odyssey7 (and 7Q). Considering that you're getting a phenomenal field monitor, as well as a recorder, for $1295, it's a pretty good deal all up.

Does the GH4 have a cine-log profile? Don't that just have cine-like gamma? Log would be interesting to see.

Cinelike D is said to be quite flat plus you can set contrast curves on the touchscreen and the black level with the master pedestal. I'm optimistically assuming that with all these options you can create a very flat profile.

This alone plus focus peaking plus the improved wi-fi capabilities (like in the GM1 - I love it) would be a reason to buy the camera. If 4K comes along with it too - fine. ;-)

Words to be eaten with salad dressing pretty soon. 4K is absolutely fantastic and with the terrific and affordable prices of the Sony and Panasonic new cams so far whoever doesn't get into it is completely out of the loop.

This one looks pretty good to me!

I think I've been taken out of context. If you read my entire post, I said I am more interested in the 1080P 10bit at up to 60FPS, via an Odyssey 7, as opposed to the internal 4K.

So many options with the GH4 to capture great footage. Exciting times.
