GH4 New footage

Yeah, that's cute -- but -- 1080 video encoded to Youtube and then viewed at 1080 on a true 1080 production display doesn't invent aliasing. And, there's been a severe lack of 1080 footage released from the GH4.

So, I'm glad you're the one deciding "pro" rules -- but -- there's a lot of silence about 1080 on the GH4.

One more time, You can not make a final judgement on anything based on a YouTube video. 1080p or not. Never. The 1080p footage on the GH4 will be fine. There is no doubt about that. Now the silly speculation turns into something new every single day that goes by. Amazing.

LOL!.. Actually it wasn't trolling, it's actual GH4 slo-mo footage posted by Panasonic....but for some odd reason they decided to start the video with footage of a guy running in, what I initially that was underwear but was actually his speedo's on the beach...in slo-mo....lol

It's all good, just goofing around....my apologies if I was a little misleading with my post

not at all! I meant Panasonic trolled us :)

I might be fine or it might have aliasing like the GH3. For those of us in small markets, the only way to judge cameras before buying them is based upon strong opinions of those we trust and the footage we can see online. I can't test a C100, a GH4, an FS100, an AF100...I can only trust what I hear and see.

Now...should too much be based on one video? No. But right now, there isn't a whole lot to go by. No one's saying it's the end of the world, just stating an opinion the opposite of "Hey that looks good". Just saying, "hey, that looks like ...t."

I get what you are saying but to make a final judgement we have to wait until the cameras are released with the final firmware. Until they are finally out in the wild and used by knowledgeable people the jury is still out. In my opinion, I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the GH4 is going to be a killer camera all around. No doubt.

Agreed, it is wise to see what it can really do. I just would like to see something done in a more short film style...I really don't care about the super sharp 4K thing.(other 4k benefits aside) The GH3 is already plenty sharp for my taste.

Time will bring us all those answers though.

Why don't you try "one more time" (your quote) reading what I wrote -- there's nothing there that is a "final judgment." The only "silly speculation" (your quote) is what you imagined from my comment. The only thing "amazing" (your quote) here are your little attempts at being condescending.

Sample footage is posted for the purpose of being evaluated by prospective purchasers and forums exist for the purpose of discussion. All of this is reasonable.

Not just you... the account seems fishy. Everything on the channel page is in English, but the banner is in Spanish (French? Italian?). You would think that Panasonic would post this video to the same page they've posted every single other GH4 video, too.

Yeah, if it was posted by a "division" of Panasonic, then Panasonic needs to get them to take it down.
I don't think it was shot with a GH4. I think it is an attempt to drive traffic….
At the least, if it is not a Panasonic video then Panasonic needs to flag it.

Even the banner is lame.......

Sample footage on You Tube is to be taken with a grain of salt. No way whatsoever to make any kind of judgment on anything based on it. Was I the one doubting the quality of 1080p on the GH4 based on the fact that we haven't seen or heard much about it? I don't think so. Was I the one passing judgement on the aliasing of 1080p based on a YouTube crappy video? I don't think so. Does discussing speculative nonsense about a camera that isn't yet finalized adds any value to a forum? I don't think so.

Actually you can rent any of those cameras, sans the GH4 at the moment, to test them out before you purchase. I'm in a small market and can have any camera available shipped here overnight if needed. And I hear this a lot… But renting a camera is too expensive! No, renting a camera is cheap compared to purchasing the wrong camera you will be stuck with for the next 3 years.

+1

The url in the banner is a Brazilian url, so I'm assuming that it's legitimate, and that international divisions of Panasonic operate with some autonomy.

Yes, but if it was the Brazilian division, I would think the channel would be called something other than "Lumix G" (like "Panasonic Brazil" or something) and they would use Portuguese and not English.
