New Firmware!

On Mac - Downloaded the firmware and the mac patch. Formatted card in camera, popped it on the mac, copy firmware file and paste to card (firmware is in a file called private which was already on the card, overwrite YES), dragged Mac patch onto card, ran it, pop up said "finished". Eject, card into camera, plug in ac adapter, camera on, Cam Menu>Other functions> Update - Yes. Wait.... Finished. Bingo. Worked like a charm.
Yes thanks Noel.. simple step by step for the slowbees like me, mine is eventually updating now. How long does it take? Been going now for 10 mins.
Cool made a tea came back done...about 12 mins, thanks again!

Thanks Jan & Panasonic. Good luck getting another camera manufacturer to listen and respond so quickly and efficiently to feedback, won't happen. Now, about the iso's and the wheel... :)

Followed the instructions...update was painless...even easier then the HMC150 updates.
Thanks to Jan & Panny!

With a proper white balance the green LCD issue seems to have been taken care of. LCD and EVF aren't identical, but more than close enough for me. Issue still remains when using a WB preset. Anyone else confirm this?

Do you have to reformat the card after this? I believe the directory of the downloaded "private" folder is a bit different.

I did. Dont need the firmware on the card anymore, so just formatted in camera.

I never noticed the green cast to begin with. Strangely on someone elses AF100, brand new, I saw it until I WB it. Another topic.

I notice a green cast on 3200K preset under home / office consumer fluoro fixtures , be they the household screw ins or the tube type. Under a 3200k tungsten its perfect. The issue is that the fluoro units have a green spike that the preset hasnt been told about - well you basically cant tell a preset to account for anything other than a 3200k source. Anyway manual white balance always corrects it for me, it ups the magenta to account for it - which obviously when pointed at a tungsten 3200k source looks magenta. This does NOT happen on kino or osram fluoro professional use tubes.

that went flawlessly, very easy to update. not sure if it is just me, but the lcd seems to render out a better, proper image. before it seemed too sharp and unatural. not sure if anyone feels this way or maybe my minds playing tricks. either way thanks for the update.

Thanks Noel for the clear and easy step by steps. Just successfully updated.... LCD still a little green, but I've grown to rely on the EVF as well as my LH900 monitor.

Jan, Panasonic:

Thank you for responding so quickly to the community. It's much appreciated. Looking forward to future Panasonic innovations for the AF100 and future products.

Oh wow I feel dumb. I'm so use to everything being in GB I just assumed it said 64GB... not 64MB... my bad :-) I guess that's what working 16 hours days will do to you. I even typed "MB" and I thinking "GB" the whole time.

A 64 MB card, can be a collector's item and fetch a premium price.
;)

I can't seem to update the firmware. I format a SDHC 4GB card with the camera, pop the card into my macbook. Copy the downloaded firmware - "PRIVATE" folder into the newly format SDHC 4GB card. Check the content, its exactly the way it should be - PRIVATE\MEIGROUP\ .. . Pop the card into the camera and it ask me to check card. Sigh! someone please tell me where i do wrong.
