New firmware for Pana lenses

and the GF1.

But all the lenses seem to of been givena tweak too, the 14-140, wonder if this solves some of the mud? the kit 14-45 and 45-200 now support af in fulL hd, cool.

Out of interest I have just ordered the 45-200, figured an f4 45(90 equiv) at F4 with af, in all modes now(yes) with IS optical stability is not to be scoffed at. Plus it can be used at f4.5 at 100mm am led to belive, that should give some very cool images.

Looking forward to trying the firmware and my new 45-200mm

Because mud isn't caused by the stock lens. It's caused by too much info changing in the frame all at once.

Actually... this may have a little bit of an effect. Because, if there's any truth to people having muddier footage when using the stock lens, it might be because they're using autofocus. Autofocus could make things get really muddy, really quickly. So if it's better-performing AF, maybe it does address mud. But only for those times when you're using autofocus.

I predict there will be no difference for those times when using manual focus.
 
yeah i think on my GH1, while using the 14-140 lens (after the 1.2 update) in the ISO page it now has both AUTO and iISO, which i'm guessing is some kind of 'intelligent' iso setting. I don't remember that from before but i've only had my camera for a week!
 
The 14-140 lens in the GH1 seems slightly brighter to me? slightly quicker?

I think Panny is looking at the people that will get the GH1 christmas day, shoot inside then send it back because it's faulty due to streaks. If they aren't they should be....and where is the GH1 update?
 
KIT LENS:-

I notice fast zoom outs now hold focus better and do not break up the codec - nice clean images on fast zoom outs now

nice fix - that was annoying me!!

Also focus is less hunting in low light


seems an overal focus improvment

It seems that on my GH1, the 14-140 can now focus much faster without hunting at very low light.
 
had no problem with the last body update, but for the life of me, i can't get this lens update to work...followed the exact instructions, but as soon as i power on my cam, just business as usual...ah well.

is this just a PAL update?...
