New firmware 1.21 for HMC150 available for download

Have Panasonic done this in the past?

I was hoping it fixes the problems I have shooting footage with strobe lighting

Bollox to it! Im gunna do it tonight.

I'll expect it to start recording in RedCode at 4.5K with a bass ISO of 800 and Mysterium-X like properties, maybe even HDRx capability :D

I did... no problem!
...and my 'Recoder' is working much better now(?)! LOL.

I haven't noticed any change thus far.

I had skipped the last upgrade and went straight from 1.19 to this one. No problem, my new class 10 Sandisk card is working great :)

Have yet to upgrade any frimware versions from the original that was shipped when first release. No need for class 10 for me yet and still would like to know what they meant by recoder?

Read the pdf, the mystery of the recorder is revealed along with the meaning of life and what Elvis is up to these days.
But the rocket scientists at panasonic say that the camera has to be powered through the charger not by battery. AAARRRGGHHH mine got nicked. Anybody in Durban want to lend me a charger for 15min?

Does anyone have detailed information as to exactly what this firmware update does. One line of the "recoder" is not sufficient...

Can someone ask Rob Myers or someone else from Panasonic for clarity?

Someone here joked that it may prevent non-Panasonic Batteries from working with the HMC150 series. They may be correct. Either way, before I install a firmware upgrade, it would be good to know exactly what it is going to do.

Thanks for your support.

I don't mess with the firmware of any device unless I know if it's something I need or if it fixes an existing issue. Come on Panasonic- all firmware updates improve efficiency. Why so vague? The prior update spelled out what it was for (class 10 SDHC)- why not now? What does it actually do?

Maybe it gives you a nice shallow DOF?

Why try to fix something that's not broken, I always mess things up when trying to do that...
