Wow, it looks really good! The trailer looked great as well. Was this shot on the DVX100b?
My only problem was that the "bad guy" looked a little "random," if that makes any sense. Like, you wouldn't really expect some guy dressed in an army uniform to come slaughter a bunch of innocent people. But I'm sure there's more to the story, so you've got me interested.
Either way it looks really awesome!

Great! I love these horror films.

You going to put it up? If not, can we buy it? I would def. buy this.

Share some more specs about it.

Thanks.

Yeah I'll agree with you on that one, I think the beginning was great, then the army dude came and killed everyone.

I think what should have been done with the trailer, at least is to show less of him, when you see the guy just standing there, he appears to be a guy from the army, and he happens to be killing people, and I'm not completely thrilled.

The attention getter is not showing all these dead bodies, but having shots of a hand with a knife stabbing somebody but we don't know who is killing these people and who is getting killed. We basically hear screams of terror. Wouldn't you scream if some dude in a army suit was killing your friends?

It would be like showing Micheal Myers killing people in a preview, so when we come to watch the movie, we already know who's going down.

I don't know what the story is, but from the trailer, I figure its a weekend going wrong (duh hence the name weekend). So my thing is to show less and you'll get a better reaction to the movie when somebody sees it. Like the saying goes "less is more."

I don't know if anybody agrees with me on it but I think it would be more effective as a trailer.

Good Job though, I know I can't do anything close to that.

I agree with this and man it did look sick! What were your methods for uploading to web it almost looked hd on some parts. Did you uprez it in anyway? Looked great.

I'm giving it a second run through and I think it kicks the most ass with that slow zoom into the red house, along with the chilling music, after that, I think you should make some adjustments like I mentioned before.

Thanks! The entire team thanks all of you for the great comments.

I can see what you mean with showing a little to much of the killer but i dont understand where your getting the dead bodys from? There are a couple of semi-revealing scenes but if you watch the movie you will understand why it don't matter. Anyway this is a teaser so we will be releasing a real trailer later, then we will take all comments made on this one to consideration.

Shot on a AG-DVX100AE (yes PAL) and it is upressed. All post-production is done by Mallory Film and the owners Teodor Miljevic was Director of Photography hence the Mallory Film logo in the beginning of the trailer. But the film is produced by First Day Productions.

Sincerely,
Joakim S. Hammond

By the way it is edited in Premiere Pro. The film is not released yet, the idea is to sell it to distribitors so we wont be selling it ourselves.

No adapter, but we did use two different diffusion filters Black and Gold plus various other standard filters. I dont know about the upress, i will ask and get back to you.

Hi guys My name is Teodor and I'm the one responsible for the grading and postproduction on weekend. Since there has been some question about post work I thought I share the pipeline in AE so more of you can do it if you lik the results.
The pipeline goes like this(all composition are set to 16bit)

Comp1.Colorcorrection in colorfinesse and noisereduction with neatimage) In the same process I also use multiple layers to save highlight information with the help of a higly set luma key. I also do noisereduction in layers(As with the first shot after the text where the clouds and blue sky have a more severe reduction that the detailed grass.(I also added post polarizer) then I render uncompressed.

Comp2. I use instant HD from redgiant software. Render in highest quality to a 1280x720comp. There I add a Mild unsharp mask. Then I render

comp3.I import my hd material into a PAL sized composition (to save space with the final uncompressed version (Will probably save all in Cineform HD instead in the end (some of the uprezzed stuff look truly beautiful:). Here I blend multiple layers with different blendingmodes until I hit the right look I'm after.

I don't nest comps because nested coms dont scale linearly and there is a bigger chance they will hang due to memoryproblems. It is also cheaper and faster to handle uncompressed files (now I'm not talking realtime playback only in rendering:)

And there you have it the finished post.
My renderingtimes on a amd 4200+ are about 3hours a minut (all three renders combined.) Hope that helped.
