With the new FCPX 10.4.1 update I saw listed "support for CRL with additional Canon software" on the new features list, does anyone know what this means, I can't see any additional panels or controls in the FCPX browser?

I haven't tested it myself but I wonder if it's a poorly worded way of saying, "you'll need the FCPX CRL Plug-In Version 1.1 for 10.4.1."

Interesting...you need a plug-in from RED too to be able to see all your parameters in FCPX, so maybe this is good news if it's what we think/hope it is.

So when is someone going to download it all and make it happen? I'm on a shoot today but my email is getting the official link and notice from Canon for the firmware update. Can someone download it all and check it out?

I tried it with Canon's 4/06/18 FCPX plug-in and FCPX 10.4.1, but saw no changes besides being able to import CRMs.

I am not sure if there is a newer FCPX plug-in from Canon that was released this week, but there is currently nothing new at USA Support.

My experience too. Only import.

Yes, there is a new plugin. It seems to be required if one uses to 24 bit audio setting that is new to the latest C200 firmware. Similarly there is a new CRD version. The both work and there is no other apparent difference.

do you have a link?

Have the plug in, but I thought we'd be able to modify the Raw Settings within FCPX, like RED files.
So we still need to go through CANON's CINEMA RAW DEVELOPMENT App, correct?

CRM files are not the same as RED. You won't get the kind of raw setting you seem to expect. It might be that a developer will collect what looks like a raw settings panel from capabilities you already have to satisfy demand, but you don't get any incremental capability from that.

Here is a nice video that will answer a lot of your questions:

Note as well that this debunks the notion that clog2 introduces more noise than clog3. All clog2 does is to bring up the shadows more. This lets you see more dynamic range (the black on black 'Hi' in the video) but it also exposes more of the noise that is present. This gives you the choice to either reduce the noise or - like in clog3 - to crush it to black.

You've read the section wrong, it say new in 10.4. FCP X usually states what changed in the current version and the previous as its doing here.
