New EX3 Owner-Twins

Just got my shipment in from EC Pro Vid. Junior and Angel did me right. I try and purchase from forum supporters when I can. I am VERY HAPPY with the transaction and can Highly recommend them.
I bought 2 EX3's from them plus some extras. I've only opened one of them as of today and i can say that I'm very impressed with the camera so far.

A couple of KEY features that aren't talked about much when comparing to the Panasonic line of cameras.

- Lens/Viewfinder/Focus all work together for nice precise focus. (worth it right there)
- No friggin lens wobble.
- Super Sharp Image.
- Pretty solid controls.

I prefer to look at them as "Tools"...... Lucky Bastard....hmmm.... I guess so..... Funny thing is..... the harder you work.... The luckier you get!

what are you going to go with regarding accessories?
I would love another EX3 but am looking at the EX1 for a steadicam pilot as the EX3 seems a bit heavy for that kind of shooting.

I take it you are going with K&S?

frisco, congratulations. Can you do me a favor, check the power connector for the power supply SBAC and the one for the camera and see if they are the same connector or a different one?

I got 2 the same so I only need to learn one camera and all parts are interchangeable. I'm gonna have:

1- 16gig SxS
4- 8 gig SXS
8- 16 gig KxS

I also got spare batteries and chargers, external zoom controller and Sony extended warranty.

You may be right with a EX1 for steadycam use.... EX3 seems just on the edge of chunky.

We're thinking of expansion: Either Texas or Cali.
 
Come to Dallas, we could really use you guys, we have no Pro Video super stores anywhere. Just a one Mom and Pop type place. Very, very strong Pro market here. You would be just another shop in Cali. Plus you can set-up shop here, without going in the poor house, paying for California mark-up.
And for your employees they can relocate and find houses that are not in the ridiculously stupid price range.
 
While EC Professional Video would always be a wonderful addition to the marketplace, I would certainly challenge the assertion that the Dallas marketplace has a lack of pro video houses. It is obviously not really appropriate to pitch businesses which are not board sponsors but I would certainly content that the market is well-covered.

I would not challenge the contention that housing prices are low. Please relocate to greater DFW area and buy my house as I am relocating to the northeast this spring or summer.

We have so many customers, friends in California, we should do OK, I guess it would be more of a safe choice.

Texas: The president of the company loves Houston, Texas - even though he's been there twice only. Once for a huge XDCAM HD project/installation, 9 camera set up back in 06'. And another time in 07' for vacation.

We'll have to see how the economy goes.

First off.... You mean the cord that comes off the Battery Charger BC-U1

Looks like the same one to me.... I don't have my dial calipers here to measure exactly.

-Both are yellow tipped.

-Barrel length is the same.

-Both are 12V

-Both have identical looking center pin.

-Plug from BC-U1 fits into the SBAC perfectly
