Rumor has it that there won't be a EX3R, but that doesn't mean they'd have to stop selling the EX3. Drop the price down to $9,000 list and I think it'll continue to sell. With the 350 in the $20,000 range I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony's next 1/2" camera priced in between the EX3 and 350 - around the $14,000 range. After all even the new JVC HM790 is listing at $11,900 - the same as the HPX370. And you know Sony will claim their new 1/2" camera is better than either of those.

Well form factor is a big factor, 4 channels of audio, removable standard 1/2" lens mount (Sony electronic control I'd guess).

You're right though, at about twice the price you're not getting twice the performance in any respect, the EX1R rocks in value.
