New demo

Here is a new demo. Regional sales reps at Panasonic will start using this demo soon. All the clips are provided by MotionZoneHD.com shooters. Each clip is identified by Shooter name and clip number. Jan loves the clips and I hope we can work out a deal where we can update the clips each quarter. This is a great way to get exposure for your work! A big thanks to all the shooters who keep submitting footage! David at www.motivitypictures.com provided the P2animation, thanks David! Check out the soundtrack provided by Alan Morse Davies. On the DVD that Panasonic is using we have a P2 folder that the reps can copy onto a P2 card for demo purposes. Just unzip the VIDEO_TS folder and burn to a DVD. This file is 227 megs, enjoy!

No, Jan asked me if I wanted the opportunity to showcase some of our best work.
The demo itself as you see does not have any Panasonic logos, except on the P2 card animation. All of the shooters have been excited to have the chance to showcase their work. I have many requests now to get in future demos like this.
Hopefully, if Panasonic likes this idea we can update the demo every qtr. as I keep getting really great footage.

Wow, I burned the demo to DVD and watched it on my 42' Plasma HDTV and some of the footage looked great.

It's hard to imagine that some of those shots could look much better even if they were shot on 2/3 inch CCD cameras with better glass. Considering that the clips are downrezed to standard DVD resolution makes them even more impressive.

Was this DVD built with HD or SD DVD software?

I guess what I mean to ask is if this is this the end result one would expect to see if they compressed HVX footage with DVD Studio Pro, or similar software?

Yes, exported a DVCPRO HD .mov and then used compressor at best quality.
DVD SP was used for authoring.

I'm having a problem viewing this footage. "unzip the VIDEO_TS folder and burn to a DVD." I did twice - one i burned the entire VIDEO_TS folder the other time I burned just the files inside the VIDEO_TS folder. Niether method worked. Mac OSX.

That VIDEO_TS folder was created with DVD SP.
On the MAC you may need to import that folder into DVD SP
and burn from there or use Toast to burn it.
I don't think you can just copy the VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD-R on the MAC.

Congrats, but what is the significance of "669." You can PM me if fitting.

I've tried downloading your file. I'll try it again. Neat idea. can't wait to see!

Just burnt it and watched it on my tv. The footage looks fantastic. Any doubts about this camera have long since gone.

Excellent, The shooters of the footage and Panasonic will be happy to hear that.
The HVX200 needs a good shooter to squeeze out the best results!

Just a note if people are having trouble burning a DVD: in OS X, you can open DVD Player, and choose "Open DVD Media" from the File menu. Then select your VIDEO_TS folder and watch on your computer. Not an NTSC monitor, I know, but it works. Love the Israel shots, and the one of the guy riding in the train is amazing.

how can i watch this on my mac. I've downloaded the file but don't know how to play it.

thanks
g.
