New deal from Sony for the F3

I still am happy the price drop, and it does suck for everyone else... I have a sneaking suspicion theres more to this than meets the eye.... Hear me out...

i was thinking a new camera at NAB.

i agree that they're moving very quickly with the changes to slog. on one hand the changes were perhaps inevitable, but i think it may well be something more than just a response to the c300.

Someone posted on another thread that the "discontinued" indication for the F3 on the B&H page linked to above may be a mistake by B&H confusing the fact that the F3 has a new part number now that it comes with S-log onboard.

+1 of feeling the pain of having bought the full-price SLOG a few months ago at the big $$4 price. Maybe they'll send us a Sony T-shirt or something. :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Ah the perfect SONY analysis.
Sony has been like this for years- Oh, about 25-30 in my experience.
It's one of the WORST companies for CRM on the planet.
I try to stay clear of sony for this reason.
BTW, they really invented the hobbled consumer/prosumer firmware so as to up-sell pro gear maneuver.
Sure they're innovative but EVERY sony customer below PRO company is a beta tester
So happy Apple killed their consumer electronics audio division :)

I got my sLog for $899 so I can't complain, but Sony is doing a weird job of producing customer loyalty and pretty odd marketing.
They throw an upgrade into the new comera for free and charge $900 for early adopters to get the same thing and making it neccessary to send the camera in thus overloading their repair benches.
Not to mention punishing early sLog adopters with a huge $3700 fee they won't do much about and leaving every country in the world to set their own policy. Something seems off over there.
They could put this on an SDHC card and send it out for practically nothing and/or probably post it as a download.

one doesn't purchase sony gear for the warm fuzzies. certainly sony has no illusions in that regard.
