New d16 footage

Hi all,

My partner was early on in Kickstarter and just got his Digital Bolex camera. Here is a short low light test he shot today: https://vimeo.com/84735492
We will be posting some camera tests we did at a local Brooklyn donut shop soon and a link to the actual short doc we shoot there in a few weeks.

He also writes for Redsharknews and will be posting a review of the cam soon.
 
Not to be critical, but the footage was noisy, had badly blown out highlights, and contained a lot of flicker from the lights in the shop.

Just to let everyone know: we shot this very quickly out of the box yesterday and posted it because there's a lack of D16 footage out there. There was also a huge split between the interior and ext. of the shop (6+ stops I would guess) and the lights you see flickering were actually flickering bulbs in the shop. I would urge everyone to be patient as footage comes out from this camera, as there is a learning curve, and, as Joe from Digital Bolex has said, the camera has and will have a number of firmware updates that will improve image quality (i.e, highlight handling, etc.), as is the addition of 800 ISO as the max ISO is 400 now.

My friend will post some more footage that we shot (in a more measured way) today and I will link to it and he will have a full review of the camera on Redsharknews soon...
