Mine came in yesterday, I went ahead and got the new one but it turns out none of the lenses I have found actually require it. Not even the Vivitar.
You only need the bolt for controlling nikon DX and G lenses because they have no aperture ring.
Beside the Tokina, have you tried other lenses G or non-G?
I haven't tried it on other DX or G lenses as I was primarily interested in controlling just that 1 lens (tokina 11-16). The micro 4/3rds mount will fit such a wide variety of lenses that it is pretty easy to get a great set without going to DX or G lenses. The exception to this is the wide end of the focal range. Especially fast wide lenses. As a nikon user the two that interested me were the tokina 11-16 f2.8 (which I bought) and the georgeous nikon 14-24mm G (which is out of my price range)
In another forum people complain about the Novoflex adapter that it does not fit some of the lenses. I am particularly interested in using it to mount the 35/1.8 and the Sigma 50/1.4. Thanks.
I tried the new ciecio7 adapter with a bunch of AIS lenses I have here and all attached ok. 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75-150 zoom (please note the bolt is not necessary to control AIS, only DX and G)
In some cases you may need to alter an old nikon lens because a piece of metal at the back of the lens might bang into ceicio7's bolt. I had to do this on my nikon 35mm/1.4 when I put it on my canon 7D as the metal hit the EF contacts. If you do decide to remove it don't use a hacksaw as metal dust will get everywhere. Use a pair of pliers and bend it carefully. Repeat until it snaps, you should get a clean break ... and be careful not to bang into the nearby glass surface.
This pic is not mine, I got the link from a 5D thread, but it shows what I am talking about
