Hi all,

I have been developing a new camera shoulder mount for the HVX/HPX.

Fitted with 15 mm rails and weighs less then 500 grams yet very very strong. Made with industrial grade plane aluminum. Perfect for traveling as it is light weight. Can be converted to be fully kitted out. and breaks down to half the size

The should mount also can be put onto your tripod without taking the camera off.

Cost price will be approx $230USD and this item will come with a 10 years warranty. That's how tough this little bugger is.

If your interested just email me and I will keep you up to date when it is ready to be released. I will be putting together a web video showing you it's uses.

The below images are of the kitted out prototype Shoulder Mount. The actual ones for sale will have silver rails not black ones.

i like the way you use the battery thing as a counterweight. thats the biggest problem with many shoulder rigs is that they are way too front heavy

looks awesome but I cant believe that the small battery and battery mount is of much balance help. Those small batteries dont weigh as much as an HVX and a production monitor.

The battery was placed at the back for room more so then anything else. It's also helps put some of the weight behind the cameraman but it was not put there as a counter weight.

This camera mount is very custom orientated so it is very easy to do modifications because of it's all metal construction. Unlike plastic and carbon fiber which doesn't like to much cross drilling and so on without reinforcement.

I should have a video online about the mount in the next two weeks. It was built for the HVX/HPX and other mid range cameras in mind but can also be used for the DSLR camera.

Here is the second prototype for the camera shoulder mount. as you can see we have removed the bolts from the handle area to make it nice and sturdy. Only thing left is color scheme. I have received an email asking it be painted all matte black like something stealth in appearance. I was looking at everything but the rails being black. Some more ideas on color scheme would be nice. Let me know your thoughts.

I am also after name ideas for the rig. I think since it was built with the dvxuser / Indy movie maker in mind you guys should have some input into it's name

Also do you want to see anything else on this rig? e.g cheese plates, mic holders and so on?

Please note the below rig has no shoulder support foam or rubber matting for the camera. This is just the bare rig with handles

You got my attention with this shoulder mount. I am already suffering by poor posture shooting live concert footage.

in one of the pictures i see a little monitor and in the other i don't. how much for that little attachment ?
at 230.00 i could buy a few Spider Braces.
i'm asking these quesitons as a potential buyer, not someone critizing....

Definately interested in this, if I was to be picky, I'd have to say I MUCH PREFER the black version, looks way more pro.

Keep up the good work.

...What`s the balance like ?

I need a shoulder-mount that is properly counter-balanced, so I can shoot all day and not have tired arms from supporting the camera weight.

Ideally, I would like to be able to let go of the mount, and have it balance on my shoulder by itself. The best rig I`ve tried so far has been the Zacuto ENG rig, with a large adjustable weight ( 2.5 - 10 lbs ) that has an adjustable offset. ( left to right balance is adjustable along with front to back balance )
