New battery for Ex1/Ex3?

I Bought the PL-U95 from ebay superb bit of kit find it here

14.4V D-tap power socket (you can plug various on camera light to it!), and 95Wh (!!!) large capacity (compare to 56Wh for BP-U60). It uses an extender wire to power the camera through DC input on camera! It can fit into EX-1 and EX-3 battery slot and can be charged by Sony BC-U1 charger.
189 dollars

The battery indeed has higher capacity. It also is proportionally larger and heavier. We will have one in stock soon.

I got a friend in the states who could pick one up for me (I am in Ireland).
Will your stuff work here, do you do a multi charger for this battery that also takes the Sons ones too?

I see you ship your products worldwide.

How do you power them for use in Ireland/UK...dual voltage or what???

Alex - do you have any dimensions yet on the battery? Would it work with the EX-V adaptor you sold me awhile back without using the D-tap or the other plug (for the camera). Will your price be same as B & H?

It will arrive here tomorrow, will report on the dimensions, and also will test for the actual capacity. It will work similar to SWIT battery, the only differences are dimensions and weight. Also, it is supposed to have more accurate fuel gauge, as it is not voltage based, but uses true coulomb counting. Will be priced similar to the other vendors.

Also - check to see if it works with the EX-V adaptor (like the BPU60) - if so, I may be interested.

I am not so sure of buying these batteries, they must weight about 650g
is not too heavy for the camera plastic slot?

My question is, do I buy two Swit batteries @ $180 = $360
or one Switronix battery @ $295 = $295?

My $$$ math says the Swit is the better deal. Is there something I'm not getting? The battery case seems to look cool but...

OK, I have been testing the battery last few days, here is a brief report. It is indeed about 50% larger than the SWIT S-8U62, proportionally heavier too. Switronix essentially made a larger version of the S-8U62 battery, using the same approach of integrating the 12V power cable into the battery, and also the D-Tap plug. The fuel gauge is implemented using true coulomb counting method which is supposed to be better in displaying the state of charge. I did not have a chance to play with it as it takes time to go through several charge/discharge cycles, while watching the LEDs :-)
The capacity of the battery tested as labeled, which is 96 WH. Switronix uses Moli cells, they are premier cell vendor out of Canada, not China, so expect good long term performance.
So if a very long run time is imortant to you, while extra weight is a minor negative, consider this new battery. As far as pricing, we are going to price it similar to B&H in our online store, but we will offer a special limited time 10% discount to the DVXuser members (please use DVXUSER-L96 special discount code while ordering). I took a couple of pictures with a Switronix and Swit batteries side by side to illustrate the size difference. Keep in mind that the SWIT battery is a little bigger than the BP-U60, so if one compares the BP-U60 and Switronix, the difference would be even more dramatic. Also, almost forgot to answer the original question - yes, the business end is exactly the same as the BP-U60 and as S-8U62, it plugs in and works with both our chargers and adapters and the Sony charger.
