New Atomos Ninja Blade HDMI $995

Only good if you plan on doing your project at 30P or under. Otherwise, Convergent Design Odyssey is the way to go - does 10bit all the way up to 60P.

How does shooting overcrank to a Samurai work if you are on a 24fps timebase? IE will 96fps in 23.976 format give the Samurai trouble, or as long as your actual timebase is below 60p will it work?

Hard to say if one would need the higher res screen if they plan on using focus peaking anyway.

My experience with peaking and DSLRs - according to peaking on my marshall (with nikon or canon DSLRs), everything's in focus. You have to be waaay out to lose peaking, and you have to look for the tiniest details to know what's sharp - like individual eyelashes. Seems like the higher the monitor rez., the tighter the peaking can display. So the blade may be a good step up from the GH (or any) built-in panel.

* I think the EVF in the GH4 is 1024x576 with four dots per pixel, so, not quite 720p, but not that far behind
* The sonys let you configure peaking, so you can make it more sensitive or less depending on your preference (it would be even better if it allowed you to configure different levels for regular view and for focus-assist 10x view)

I see this & now wish that Atomos would just make a record-less monitor.

I like SmallHD, but I like zebra stripes even more and that I'd love to have an inexpensive / small / light weight 720 (or 1080) monitor with zebras.

I'm thinking it'd rival the Small HD DP6 / AC7, but be just a tad bit smaller in physical size. Possibly even a little cheaper than the AC7. It'd be great if it came w/ a battery plate standard from $500-600.

The DP6 is 5.6 inches and the Ninja Blade is 5". Not a big difference but much better in terms of image quality. My DP6 died so I'm looking at the Ninja Blade as a replacement for the DP6 and Ninja 2 in one. It also has much better tools than the DP6 does.
