New Anamorphic Adapter

I just bought a KOWA INFLIGHT PROMINAR ANAMORPHIC – 35 1.5X LENS on ebay for use with my T2i. While I will be the first to admit that I don't have the slightest clue as to what I'm doing when it comes to this particular area, I love the look of "scope" filmmaking and anamorphic flares. So, any advice on this impulse buy would be most appreciated? I paid $510.00. Did I highly overpay considering the demand for these lenses nowadays? Where should I look to find an adapter to fit this lens onto my T2i? FYI, it has a 52 mm screw mount.

good price! As I saw A 2x bell & howell just a few days ago bought for 850 (and, I would personally pay more for a 1.5x than a 2x; 2x is just too much of a squeeze for me)

To answer your question: If indeed the rear thread on the Kowa is 52mm, then you will need a ??mm to 52mm step down ring, where ?? is the size of the front filter thread on the lens you want to try and attach it to.

But the guy on Vimeo said it was Series VII. You could order both sizes and see which one fits. Then get step rings in the right sizes for any other lenses you might want to try.

lol unless misspelled or badly listed there is no way those can land on the cheap nowadays...

@carrcs welcome to the cool gang where horizons widen !

..."redstan54" has adapters up on ebay every once in a while... he has a nifty Kowa lens-to-adapter fitting that let's you align & clamp down. It has 52mm threads (for the lens side) and the other end is thread-less (good for the odd/unknown size of the Inflight rear threads) with tightening screw-knobs (for the Kowa side). I think he offers them in 2 diff sizes too.

He also lists on occasion a front-filter adapter clamp, that let's you screw on 72mm diopters/filters.

He has some pretty valuable bits to get the Kowa singin'! :)
